Large Players in the logistics space have SLAs attached in contracts with their customers. These SLAs usually come with a penalty clause attached which are invoked if the SLA is not met.

THE PROBLEM

The company's current route optimization process was manual and time-consuming. Employees would spend hours manually planning routes, and they would often make mistakes. This resulted in missed deliveries, which were costly for the company.

SOLUTION

The company implemented AWS Glue to automate its route optimization process. AWS Glue is a fully managed ETL service that makes it easy to extract, transform, and load data. The company used AWS Glue to create a data pipeline that extracted data from the company's various systems, transformed the data, and loaded the data into a central repository. The company then used AWS Glue to create a machine learning model that could be used to optimize routes.

We created a central repository for all of the data that was used by the solution. This made it easy for users to find and access the data that they needed. We developed a user-friendly interface that made it easy for users to interact with the solution. This interface allowed users to create and manage routes, view reports, and track performance. We provided training and support to users of the solution. This helped users to get the most out of the solution and to troubleshoot any problems that they might encounter.

There was a 15% savings in cost with zero missed deliveries. The delivery team no longer had to strech to meet the deadlines. Number of vehicles used for delivery was brought down by 25% on average.The company was able to improve customer satisfaction by delivering packages on time and in good condition.
